Psychology Graduate, Administrative Assistant, & Future Mental Health Counselor

My name is Caroline Sartain, and I’m a recent Psychology graduate from East Carolina University and current Administrative Assistant at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. I’m currently pursuing a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling online through North Carolina Central University.

Current Focus

Academic Growth

  • Currently pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at North Carolina Central University, with coursework beginning in Fall 2025

  • Will most likely be adding Addictions coursework intending to get my Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist credential alongside my CMHC and Licensed Professional Counselor credentials

Professional Development

  • I have taken the Adult Mental Health First Aid course and am certified through June 2028.

  • I have a Coursera certificate from the “Work Smarter with Microsoft Word” course and am working on the Excel and PowerPoint courses now.

Skills Integration

  • I’m working on applying my education in psychology to enhance student support initiatives in my current role, while also developing clinical skills that will serve future clients.

  • I follow multiple psychology- or counseling-related organizations on LinkedIn and keep up with the current trends to help prepare for my graduate education.
